Sole E95 Ellliptical Trainer (2009 Model)

The Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer by combining an easy to use console with all the features of a health club model, including built-in speakers which lets you hook up any MP3 player for easy listening, a built-in cooling fan and a fluid natural motion provided by a whisper quiet drive system is an absolute “Best Buy” in every sense. The E95 boasts a combination of a heavy 29 lb. flywheel and a high gear ratio not found on comparable models, which translates into an extremely smooth feel with plenty of resistance at the top end for a machine that will provide you a challenging workout.

Additionally the E95 has a power incline feature which offers additional resistance as well as variable positions for diversity in your workout at the touch of a button. Other features include custom molded hand grips for a comfortable feel and to allow you to get an upper body exercise for a total workout. The best feature is the foot-pads which are designed with a 2 degree inward slope and are adjustable to reduce ankle and knee stress along with helping in the reduction of numb toe effects and sore Achilles tendons which are common occurrences on other Elliptical Machines.

All People aren’t built the same way and don’t walk with the same gait. Some people are knock kneed while others are bow legged and some people walk on the balls of their feet while others walk flat footed. When Sole engineers were testing various Ellipticals they noticed that some people had toes go numb during workouts while others had pain in their knees and they found that this had to do with the fixed angle of the foot-pad from front to rear at the bottom of the ellipse pattern.

Even though most good Elliptical Trainers have what are called “Articulating Footpads” (like the Sole E Series) to address this problem, but it does not solve the problem of numb toes and painful knees for every user. So the engineers at Sole determined the best way to solve this problem was to make the foot-pad angle adjustable to fit different users and the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer has this feature. the people who had numb toes adjusted the angle higher in the rear and the people with painful knees adjusted the angle lower. The added benefit is when the angle is adjusted lower you work your hamstrings more and when adjusted higher you work your quads harder.

It has been found that when you use an Elliptical the natural alignment of your body is thrown off no matter how close the footpads are. The reason is because when you push backward on the bottom of the stroke your hips will move from one side to the other. The distance between the footpads is not as important as the angle of the footpad from left to right.

When standing behind an Elliptical and look at the foot pads you will notice all Elliptical footpads are flat, but if you look at a Sole Elliptical Trainer you will notice a slight inward angle of 2 degrees. Although this seems insignificant it is important because having this angle puts your body back into a neutral alignment throughout the motion during exercise. This helps alleviate sore backs, knees, ankles and hips and allows you to do a full workout comfortably.

An Elliptical that is not properly designed (Bad Ergonomics) could cause pain or injury to your body, particularly your knees, ankles, feet, hips and back. What makes an Elliptical Trainer Ergonomically good really comes down to if you feel comfortable during your entire workout while using a particular Elliptical. The real test is when you do a full workout of at least 20 minutes, not just a few minutes in a store showroom.

Thoroughly testing an Elliptical before buying it is highly recommended because there are quite a few poorly designed Ellipticals out there. Sole engineers, with over 40 years of experience designing high end exercise machines, studied every high quality Elliptical before  designing their E Series of Ellipticals. All Sole Elliptical Trainers have the finest of Sole technology built into them, no matter which model you choose.

There seems to be a lot of fan fare in the fitness equipment industry concerning Elliptical Trainers and which one has the best Bio-mechanics and Ergonomics. You should understand what the words mean, so you can make a fair assessment on a elliptical machine purchase. Bio-mechanics means, the study of the anatomical principles of movement and Ergonomics means, the study of optimizing the interface between human beings, and the designed objects and environments they interact with.

In everyday English, Bio-mechanics is the study of how your body moves and Ergonomics is the study of how to build a machine that moves like your body does so you feel comfortable using the machine. For an Elliptical Trainer this means it should have a smooth, continuous foot motion, an ellipse pattern that is level and simulates walking or running. On a Sole Elliptical Trainer you will feel comfortable throughout your entire workout and get the most out of your efforts.

Schwinn 431 Elliptical Trainer

Schwinn Elliptical Trainers, because they force you to use all of your primary muscle groups, are excellent when trying to obtain an overall body workout. The elliptical motion works the entire body via resistance through the handlebars - to the arms and upper body - and steps to the legs, glutes and calves. The elliptical machines put no excessive stress on any of your joints or muscles and provides a high- energy, low impact workout.

Elliptical trainers are often used as a warm up in preparation for strength training or more high-intensity aerobics. They also allow you to concentrate your workout on either the lower or upper body. To work the arms harder, you focus on pushing and pulling the handles; for more of a lower body workout, you rest your hands on the hand-grips and push harder with the legs. The elliptical trainers provide a great cardiovascular workout that burns just as much fat and calories as an aerobic workout.

Schwinn 460 Variable Stride Elliptical Trainer

While working out on the Schwinn 460 Variable Stride Elliptical Trainer, which has that great feature of being able to change your stride lengths from 2″-26″ without any manual adjustments, the thought of what and how much too eat during the holidays came up. First of all don’t skip meals, just eat sensibly, such as a bowl of whole grain cereal to kick the day off. It is also a good idea to eat high-fiber foods before a party, because fiber helps you feel full, and if you aren’t feeling hungry you probably won’t eat as much.

Treat yourself to that piece of pie, or that holiday cookie, but instead of having a huge piece of pie or multiple cookies limit yourself to a smaller portion. Probably the best idea is, don’t hang around the buffet table with all the tempting and delicious food, because you know what they say “out of sight, out of mind”. Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and drink alcohol sensibly, because there are plenty of calories in cocktails.

Sole E95 Ellliptical Trainer (2009 Model)

When trying to reshape your body after pregnancy it is a good idea to have an overall exercise program along with a specific exercise for one area. When exercising on the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer (2009 Model), the great thing about this machine is that you can give yourself a total upper and lower body workout. When you want to get specific and do an exercise that particularly pertains to postpartum abdominal reconditioning, it is helpful to have a basic understanding of the structure and function of your abdominal wall. The deepest layer of the abdominal wall, and the most important in postpartum exercise, is the Transverse Abdominis. It’s fibers run across the abdomen and preforms abdominal compression , which draws the belly inward, and narrows the waist.

A critical component for restoring your abs and the development of core strength is learning to control the shape of your abdominal wall during exercise. Here is an exercise that will help strengthen your Transverse Abdominis: First, stand up tall, then think about drawing your belly button towards your spine, while making sure you are not sucking in your breath, you are using your abs to do this. Once your belly button is drawn in , it automatically activates your Transverse Abdominis muscle. Try to keep your belly button in as you breathe normally. Practice a few times until it becomes comfortable. do this whenever you are exercising and you will be working your Transverse Abdominis and strengthening yourself from the inside out for a flatter tummy faster!
