Schwinn’s Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike

The Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp Exercise Bike was first introduced in 1978 and is still considered by many a great design Schwinn came up with that many companies have tried to copy but haven’t been able to match. This Schwinn upright stationary bike is based on resistance, which simply put, the harder you pedal the more resistance you will encounter. The fan in front of the Schwinn Airdyne sucks in air as you pedal, so you remain in control, the more you push the harder the resistance, the less hard you pedal the less resistance.

The bonus you get with the Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp is the integrated exercise arms, which allows you an upper body workout along with a lower body one. The Airdyne has a low-impact design that allows a smooth workout and gives you great results. Many different types of exercise bikes have come & gone, some good, some bad, but The Schwinn Airdyne has stood the test of time and I’m living proof, I’ve owned mine for over 10 years.

Schwinn’s Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike

At first look The Schwinn Airdyne Upright Exercise Bike looks like an older style bike but is clearly a modernized version with a fresh color design and a sporty appeal. Even though Schwinn has left off the advanced magnetic resistance systems that most bikes use today, you have to pedal harder and harder to get more resistance. This is a big plus, because since pedaling is what biking is all about, this in-turn will get your heart rate up and bring you closer to your cardio and fitness goals.

A great feature of the Airdyne bikes is the rotating handlebars which help deliver a full body workout that many of the newer bikes seem to neglect. The moving of your arms will actually help your lower body get into a good groove and help you go even faster, plus it will increase your total calorie burn and make your workout  more effective. If you choose to do just a lower body workout, no problem, the handlebars can be let go and you can just concentrate on your lower body.

When comparing the Schwinn Airdyne Upright Exercise Bike to other models of today, one thing you will notice is that it is more of a throw-back to earlier exercise bikes. It doesn’t have all the modern gimmicks and programming that some consumers demand today. What it has is the same high quality that people have been accustomed  for years of quality workouts and weight loss.

The sales of the Schwinn Airdyne is still as strong today as they were years ago. The Schwinn Airdyne Exercise Bike was introduced back in 1978 and many companies have tried to copy Schwinn’s concept, but but have never matched it. The Airdyne Exercise Bike has a low-impact design, and has the advantage of working the arms and upper body along with the lower body during your workout.

Schwinn’s Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike

The Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike is great for indoor workouts,  for all types of users, in any weather conditions. It features the patented Airdyne technology that uses a fan wheel to create resistance which increases by pedaling faster and harder. The Schwinn Airdyne has a low impact design that works the upper body by using the dual action handlebars in a back and forth motion and lower body by using the pedals to do your cycling.

Resistance is the main feature on this bike, with the harder you pedal, the more resistance you get and the pedal motion also creates a refreshing and cooling air for a comfortable workout. The dual action handlebars works in coordination with the pedals that holds the upper body, lower body, and core muscles, thus providing a full body workout. A very good and an amazing exercises bike, perfect for all, providing a comfortable and convenient workout at home!

Recumbent Exercise Bike

One of the benefits of doing interval cardio on a Schwinn 231 Recumbent Exercise Bike, as opposed to longer, moderate cardio is it’s positive effects on your metabolism. You’ll boost your metabolic rate for a longer period of time, and that means you’ll improve your conditioning and burn more fat at the same time. Long, moderate paced cardio is waste of time if you’re trying to shed those extra pounds or improve your athletic performance.

The right way to do cardio on your Schwinn 231 for fat burning and better conditioning is high-intensity interval cardio. Try doing a 15 second sprint, followed by 45 seconds of rest, and repeat this 8 times, or if you want something even more challenging try the “Tabata” interval, which is 20 seconds on, and 10 seconds off for 8 rounds. Remember, these are ALL OUT sprints, and that means you sprint as fast as you can. 100% Intensity.

Schwinn’s Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike

The Schwinn Airdyne EVO Comp Exercise Bike works your arms and legs with resistance from turning a fan just like the original Schwinn Airdyne. The faster you pedal and pump, the higher resistance your workout. The simplicity of this design gives you less of a chance of something  going wrong, but at the same time you are getting a well built machine.

The Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp has made some improvements on its predecessor, most noticeable is the size of the fan. With this improvement it has allowed for a smoother operation and a much quieter workout. The drive is by belt instead of chain which makes for much smoother pedaling. Whether you are looking at the traditional Airdyne or the newer Evo Comp, you are getting unsurpassed Schwinn quality.

Schwinn Airdyne Upright Exercise Bike

If there ever was  an exercise bike that was considered a classic, it would be the Schwinn Airdyne Upright Exercise Bike. This bike has been made and sold since the 1970’s and introduced the fan resistance exercise. This concept is unique but simple, when you pedal the bike it turns a large fan and the faster you pedal, the faster the fan turns and the harder it is to turn, because the resistance increases as you pedal faster. The handle bars are linked to the pedals so the handlebars move as you pedal.

You have a choice, you can pedal just with your arms, or just with your legs, or with your arms and legs together. When you push the handlebars and the pedals, you get a total workout, because the handlebars can engage your entire upper body for a vigorous workout and your lower body is worked on by the foot pedals. If you want a workout for your heart and lungs along with a muscle workout this is the machine for you.

Exercise bike workout

Exercise bikes are commonly used by many Americans. Exercise bikes became widely available in the 1960s when personal physical fitness became more popular. Since the 60s exercise bikes have become more modern and adaptable. Today, there are three reasons why someone may use an exercise bike; physical therapy, weight loss and to play a video game.

Exercise bikes are often used for physical therapy because of the effective cardiovascular exercise they provide. Exercise bikes are also a form of low-impact activity that is gentle on the joints. Exercise using a stationary bike can also be vigorous enough to promote weight loss by increasing the heart rate. Lastly, there is a video game console that has been adapted to a stationary bike.

Everybody has their own preferences on when to workout, but to me as long as you can commit and stay dedicated that will always will be the most important thing. To me the morning is the best time, because it prepares you for the rest of the day and you don’t have to work it in your schedule later. It installs discipline that will help you in other areas. You will be ready to take on whatever comes your way and handle everything with ease.

They asked a fighter from The Kronk Gym in Detroit why he got up at 5 O’clock every morning instead of getting up at 8 or 9 am and he told them it was strictly for discipline and that if he ever got knocked to the canvas, that while he was laying there he would remember all those early mornings of getting up for training and the effort he made to get up early instead of doing it when he felt like it, that this would help motivate him to get back on his feet no matter how he felt. You don’t have to be a fighter, but the thought of becoming mentally strong along with physically strong is twice the reward. I love starting the day out on my Schwinn Airdyne Evo Comp Exercise Bike because I can get an upper body workout along with a lower body one and start out the day with a bang.
