Body-Solid Home Gyms

I’ve found out that while working out on Home Gyms, lifting Weights is the best way to loose fat while changing your body shape. Cardio and keeping up a good diet are important but weight and strength training are the key to a stronger and healthier body.

Muscles burn more calories than fat, so the more muscles you develop the more calories you will burn through out the day. You will also raise your metabolism, strengthen your bones and improve your balance and coordination with a good strength training program.

Marcy Home Gyms

If you are looking for an affordable home gym, I was very impressed with the quality of the Marcy Home Gym. For under $500.00 you get a system that is built very well, the pulley system is quiet and smooth and the attachments are easy to use.

Not having to drive to the gym and having the convenience of working out at home will definitely make it easier to stick with a good workout schedule. All you need is about 7ft. for ceiling clearance and and another 7ft.from the wall to have your own home gym system.

Neoprene Dumbbells

Lifting weights with Neoprene Dumbbells is not only a comfortable experience but a quiet one. Neoprene (originally called duprene) was invented by DuPont scientists in 1930 and was the first massed produced synthetic rubber compound.

By using neoprene on dumbbells, manufacturers have taken advantage of its chemical inertness which is well suited for application of a corrosion resistant coating. This also forms as a padding on the dumbbell which gives you a comfortable grip and almost a noiseless experience if any weights are dropped on the floor.

York Dumbbells

I have found out that warm ups before beginning strength training with Dumbbells is very important. A warm up should last between 5-10 minutes and a good rule is to warm up gradually allowing your breathing and heart rate to increase slowly.

While warming up you have a couple of choices, one being a light cardio workout and another would be performing the specific exercise only with lighter weights. Whether you choose one or combine both you will make the transition into your workout easier and let your body prepare itself for your planned exercise routine.

dumbbell lunge

Fitness workouts don’t have to be difficult. In fact, if you’re just starting out, you want to take it slow. This exercise will concentrate on your legs and improve your posture.

1. Stand tall with your feet hip-distance apart and grasp a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing inward; make sure that your toes face forward.

2. Slowly inhale and step one leg forward, keeping your knee above your ankle and dropping the knee of your rear leg toward the floor. Stop the movement when the rear knee is 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 centimeters) from the floor.

3. Exhale and push yourself back to the starting position off your front leg.

4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then repeat the exercise stepping your other leg forward.

Choosing fitness equipment is one of the secrets that many leave behind when working toward peak performance. The first piece of equipment you want to consider in a gym or at your home is endurance machines. Why?

Endurance exercises build staying power, stamina and fortitude. Vigorous people may choose treadmills to include endurance routines. Bicycles or cycling machines are also good idea.

Exercise and diet is just the beginning of reaching peak performance. Equipment selection plays a crucial part in reaching top results. For example, if you are working to build mass and only using heavy weights and adding even more weights to overload a muscle, you can cause injury.

Strength training builds muscle strength. Thus, you want to consider strength-training equipment, since it flexes the joints, builds body composition, rest metabolism, and enhances the overall physical faculty.

Strength training works the prime mover and stabilizer muscles as well as the antagonistic muscles. The antagonistic muscles are the aggressive muscles.

Some of the exercise types include isometric, aerobics, isokinetic, powerhouse, isotonic, dynamic variable and constant resistance. The aerobic and powerhouse are types of cardiovascular and strengthening routines, while the other named exercises are strength training.

Nautilus, Pilates, dumbbells, and so forth are all types of exercise equipment you want to consider while working to peak performance.

Bowflex Home Gyms

I have found out that with a Bowflex Home Gym you don’t need a full room of equipment. One single machine allows you to work your legs, arms, chest, abs and your total body.

Bowflex has such a terrific design which allows you change any setup so quickly your heart rate stays up and you also get great fat burning results. An interesting fact about Bowflex is they are a subsidiary of the Nautilus company which has been making and marketing outstanding exercise equipment for years.

Bowflex Dumbbells

When lifting my Bowflex Dumbbells, I like lifting one arm at a time performing the bicep curl. I start by standing straight and lifting a dumbbell up toward my shoulder, rotating my arm as it moves up so that the palm with the dumbbell is now facing upward and the elbow is pointing to the ground with the forearm almost vertical.

I then lower my arm back down to the side position at a slow but even pace and perform the same exercise with the other arm. Make sure you do not pull the dumbbell back so far that your forearm moves beyond a straight up position and the dumbbell is over your shoulders. Try to do 3 sets, lifting 10 times with each arm.

Dumbbells

When choosing Dumbbells there are 2 types to look at, the adjustable with multiple weight settings and the single with 1 weight setting. Let’s look at the pluses of the adjustable type: Multiple weight settings, quickly change weights, space saver for storage, easily transported. Let’s look at minuses of the adjustable type: More costly, larger in size, harder to use during aerobic exercises.

Let’s look at the pluses of the single weight type: Affordably priced, smaller in size, easier to handle. Let’s look at the minuses of the single weight type: Need multiple dumbbells with different weights, more space needed for storage, harder to transport multiple dumbbells.

Bowflex Dumbbells

I’ve found that when doing the bicep curl with my Bowflex 552 Dumbbells, having the correct body position is very important. I like to do this exercise standing up with my feet about shoulder width apart.

When holding the Bowflex dumbbells in each hand your arms should be straight down and your palms should be facing towards the side of the thigh. While bracing the stomach muscles always remember, don’t hold your breath and exhale as you perform the lifting of the dumbbell.
