Xvest Turbo Adjustable Dumbbells

If you are into strength training with free weights you have a couple of choices, working out with barbells or with dumbbells. They both can provide you with a terrific workout that takes and breaks down free weight training to it’s basic fundamentals. Training with dumbbells stimulates a large number of muscle fibers and therefore can result in muscle growth at a tremendous rate. With barbells, you’re limited by the movements range of motion by the actual bar, not so with dumbbells, you can actually improve the range of motion with certain movements such as when doing the bench press.

Boflex Dumbbells

Owning a pair of PowerBlock Dumbbells one of my favorite exercises to use them for is the single arm dumbbell row. If this exercise is done properly it will help you build a thick, strong back. Normally the motion is pretty much an up and down motion pulling the dumbbell up towards you with one arm while the other arm is braced on the bench, but with a slight twist you can increase the effectiveness of the exercise by 50%.

The movement is; once you pick up the dumbbell, row it up to your torso but when you lower the weight back to the starting position, simply twist it inwards. Once you twist the dumbbell for a slight turn, twist it back to the original position and pull upward again. Repeat this movement for the entire set and it will definitely aid in the muscle development of your back.

Talking to a good friend of mine, he said that he had just purchased a new treadmill and was very satisfied with it. I asked him what was the name of the treadmill he purchased and what were his reasons for selecting it.  He said he choose the Ironman 220t Treadmill after many comparisons and the features that were looked at were, it was sturdy, easy to use and well made, along with a good warranty and competitive price.

Boflex Series 7 Treadmill

Most of the time you will hear the argument that walking won’t burn as many calories as jogging but lets take a closer look. When you are doing your treadmill workouts if you walk at a pace between 3.5 and4.0 mph you will burn about the same amount of calories as running or jogging. Other ways of making your workout more challenging and effective are; raising the incline on your treadmill and walk as fast as you can, pump your arms back and forth in a natural motion to add some intensity and also shorten your stride.

All the power of your walk comes from pushing with the back leg and foot, when you increase your speed , take shorter, quicker steps. Doing a brisk walk at about 3.5 mph you should be able to complete a mile in 15 minutes or less. Try to walk at least 30 to 60 minutes and if you want to do this in the comfort of your own home, the Boflex Series 7 Treadmill is an excellent choice with its reliability and many features.

My personal favorite among Upright Exercise Bikes has an updated version and its name is the Schwinn Airdyne Evolution. One thing Schwinn couldn’t improve on is the reliability of the old Airdyne, because as long as I’ve owned mine, (10 years) I have never had a single problem. One of the things they have done is make the fan smaller which produces less noise and if you are trying to watch TV or videos this is very helpful.

Treadmills

Running is definitely one of the best exercises for your body, heart and a great way to burn away calories. Whether you are going to run outside in the elements or on a Boflex Treadmill in the privacy of your home, it will take you time to build up your endurance. First and most important is to consult your doctor and get his/her approval to start a program.

When you first start you will probably spend more time walking than running. A good starting point is to begin with a brisk 10-15 minute walk and than alternate about 30 seconds of running with 1 minute of walking approximately 3 days a week. Every week you should decrease the amount of time you walk while increasing the amount of time that you run. Try to be running continuously for 20 to 30 minutes by at least the 4th or 5th week.

health supplements 

My wife suggested that I consult both a doctor and a personal trainer before my big endeavor and I thought that she was absolutely right.  When I went to ask them what I should do they both gave me really great advice.

One thing that they both said was that I should start taking some health supplements.  When the body gets older there is some resistance to vitamins and minerals and there is less of a store to use when those essential materials are depleted.  So taking health supplements and exercising go hand in hand for guys like me.

home fitness equipment

Let’s just say that I have let myself go.  A lot.  There are lots of ways that I could have made myself a healthier man, but I didn’t make the right eating and exercise choices and here we are.  I think though that enough is enough and I’m going to have to get back on the horse before it dies on me.

The home fitness equipment that I ordered should be here soon and I can’t wait to begin my journey back to health.  I have friends look like they were still in their thirties even though they are my age because they took care of themselves and I want that reality to be mine.
