Sole F80 Treadmill (2009 Model)

There are 2 very good reasons to vary your workout routine, (1) to guard against boredom, and to avoid or at-least delay reaching a plateau in workout performance and training results. University of Florida exercise scientists observed that individuals who modified their workouts every 2 weeks over an 8 week period appeared to enjoy their workouts more and were more inclined to stick with their exercise programs when compared to individuals who followed the same workout regimens week after week. By varying your exercise routine it will help you stay physically challenged, because many of the body’s physiological systems (e.g., the muscular system) adapt to an exercise program within approximately 6-8 weeks.

If you don’t modify your exercise routine, you reach a plateau because your body has adapted to the repetitive training stimulus. While working out on the Sole F80 Treadmill (2009 Model) which allows you to set up different programs and different intensity levels you can diversify your workouts very easily. There is nothing wrong with doing the exact same workout if that is what you like, or are used to, but spicing up your workout is definitely something I would highly recommend.

Sole F85 Treadmill (2009 Model)

The Sole engineering and design team have come up with some great features for 2009. The Easy Assist Folding Deck Design is a great feature that allows you to release the deck, step back and the deck will unfold itself effortlessly while you watch. Sole now offers Integrated Message Boards, which is an alphanumeric text center that sends scrolling messages to the user in an effort to guide them through all of the details of every workout.

This message board has been described as, someone standing next to you reading from the owner’s manual on what to do next in just about every function of the treadmill. Another feature of the message board that I really find helpful is the recapping of your entire workout after you have finished, so you can actually see your progress. If you want to take advantage of these and many more features, then you should take a good, hard look at the Sole F85 Treadmill (2009 Model).

Hers HR-22 Circuit Trainer Home Gym

When doing research on a gym that would help me in fat burning, shaping firming and toning my body I came across the HERS HR-22 Circuit Trainer Home Gym. If you are looking for a cardio workout, shaping up your butt and legs so your jeans fit like they used to and don’t want the hassle of changing weights, this is the machine for you. Once you get used to the hydraulic resistance you will be very happy on how you set the pace or level of your exercise just by how fast you push and pull. The faster you push and pull the more the resistance you will feel.

As you progress with the newly acquired strength you have gained, the resistance in the exercises will become more demanding and never leave you at a plateau where there is no gain. Working on the curl station, you will notice both the biceps and triceps on your arms will be both toned and defined and you get rid of any unsightly flab. So if you are looking to get in shape with 30 minute workouts 3 days a week give this Marcy Home Gym  a look.

PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable 2.5 to 50-Pounds per Dumbbell Set

Remembering doing the” snatch” and “clean and jerk”, in which you lift the barbell off the floor to an overhead position, you needed to develop  flexibility and have joint and muscle development to perform this exercise. Now there is a different way to do this exercise with a set dumbbells. You start with the dumbbells held at your sides, then the first movement is up on your toes while shrugging the shoulders and lifting the dumbbells upwards. At the top of this movement, your elbows should point to the ground and dumbbells should be upright at the shoulders. As you raise the dumbbells up to the shoulder, you will rapidly duck under them by squatting down.

Go as low as you feel comfortable with, than thrust the dumbbells overhead as you stand and push up straight, than return the dumbbells to the starting position. You will have worked out your legs, butt, shoulders, and arms in this compound exercise, and the perfect piece of equipment to use for this exercise is the PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable 2.5-50 Lbs Dumbbell Set, because it allows you to increase the weight with just a quick insertion of the selector pin as you progress in strength.

Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

Making a good choice on a purchase of Fitness Equipment is just the first step in your pursuit of losing fat and toning your body. The next thing you have to do is set goals so your weight loss will be permanent. Start with small goals, such as losing 5 lbs and a specific date that you are going to start and complete this endeavor. Make sure you keep a positive attitude about your goal and keep telling yourself that you can do this. Reward yourself with something small, a haircut, manicure, or a good book.

Take on one challenge at a time, fulfill that one, and move on to the next one. You will be surprised at how much you can accomplish with a positive attitude, because most of the time we can be our own harshest critic. On that good choice of fitness equipment, the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill has helped me reach many of my goals and it would be worth taking a look at. Remember that a healthy diet along with exercise is the key to attaining your goals of a lean and healthy body.

Xvest TurboBells Adjustable Dumbbells

When you reach a weight loss plateau, the reason is, that the human body works hard to keep energy intake and output in balance. When you decrease your food intake, your body simply lowers its metabolic rate, which allows your body to function properly, but ultimately your body requires fewer calories which creates hunger and prevents you from losing fat. Muscle burns fat and losing muscle means burning fewer calories. Lean body mass uses 5 times the calories as fat mass so, if you lose it, your metabolism drops and weight loss stops.

Starting a weight training program to help increase lean body mass should be combined with a fully nourished body and some type of multivitamin to help with any nutrient deficiencies. Xvest TurboBells Adjustable Dumbbells are a great piece of strength training equipment to start your program because they are easily adjusted with the flip of the switch, they range from 5-60 lbs, and can be adjusted in 2.5 lb increments. Remember losing weight involves more than starving yourself, a good diet, cardio workouts and strength training all have to be combined for success in losing fat and gaining a lean, healthy body.

Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells

By moving your hands inward for a close- grip instead of a wide grip on the chest press exercise, and keeping the weight over your ribcage, rather than over the chest, you can get a great tricep workout. You can do this exercise with a barbell, or how I do it with a set of  Dumbbells. When using dumbbells make sure you keep your palms facing each other and lie on a flat bench, holding the dumbbells about shoulder width apart.  Bend your elbows, keeping them close to the body and lower them to just below the torso. bringing the dumbbells to a hover over the ribcage. Contract the triceps to push the weights back up, keeping the weight centered over the torso.

Try to avoid locking out the elbows at the top of the movement. You will definitely feel the back of your arms along with your chest and shoulders in this exercise and all you need to perform this one is a sturdy bench or stability ball and an adjustable set of Bowflex SelecTech 552 Dumbbells that are easy to use, take up little room and allow you to progress with heavier weights as you increase your workout load.

Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer

When I am doing full body workout with my Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer, the reduction in ankle and knee stress are one of the great engineering designs of the Sole E55. The over-sized pedals along with the 2 degree inward slope to the foot pedals make a very comfortable workout, which in turn allows you to do a more intense workout. After the workout is finished, something that is normally overlooked, ‘The Cool Down”, is very important in helping the body recover and be prepared for the next workout.

Doing the “cool down” after a workout helps your body with letting the heart rate and respiration slow down gradually, it helps avoid dizziness and fainting,  it also helps muscles get rid of waste products such as lactic acid, and it helps you end your workout on a good note. At the end of your workout, slow down gradually just like when you warm up at the beginning of your workout. Continue to move around for at least 5 minutes and once you stop sweating, use this time to have some water and rehydrate. You can also do a few stretches to help with flexibility and most importantly let your body relax.

Schwinn’s Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike

Everyone will have different goals in their exercise program, but depending on what your specific goals are, loose weight,  gain strength, heart health, or flexibility, cardio, strength training and flexibility exercises should all be represented in your program. Cardio exercises will strengthen the heart and lungs, increase endurance and burns calories which help you lose weight. Strength training will strengthen muscles, bones and connecting tissues and by building lean muscle tissue which raises metabolism and reduces body fat as long as you are watching your calorie intake. Stretching will help in flexibility, muscle soreness, agility as we get older and it helps us relax and feel good.

Working all these different areas of exercising into your program will make you a more well rounded and healthy individual. When doing my cardio part of my exercises, working out on my Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Exercise Bike is 60 minutes I look forward to. After my workout I actually feel pumped up as opposed to feeling tired from working out, and that’s a great way to start the day out since I do my cardio workout in the morning.

PowerBlock Personal Adjustable 5 to 45-Pounds per Dumbbell Set

When you start a strength training program, soreness is a normal occurrence. Soreness is caused by small tears in your muscle fibers, which is how muscles respond when overloaded. Rest and recovery are needed for growing stronger and building lean muscle tissue. When I’m doing my strength training with my PowerBlock Personal Adjustable 5-45 lbs Dumbbell Set and I have been able to work many muscle groups, I made sure I gave myself plenty of time to recover in the beginning, so I would not over-train and risk injury.

Other important ways of preventing soreness are, make sure you warm up properly before your workout and cool down and stretch the muscles you have used after the workout. When warming up, it’s a good idea to do 5-10 minutes of light cardio or do a specific warm up where you do warm up sets for each exercise. You can do a lighter set for upcoming exercises before you move on to heavier weights. The saying “No Pain No Gain” does not have to carry over to the next workout if you follow these simple guidelines and eat nutritious meals throughout the week.
