There are 2 very good reasons to vary your workout routine, (1) to guard against boredom, and to avoid or at-least delay reaching a plateau in workout performance and training results. University of Florida exercise scientists observed that individuals who modified their workouts every 2 weeks over an 8 week period appeared to enjoy their workouts more and were more inclined to stick with their exercise programs when compared to individuals who followed the same workout regimens week after week. By varying your exercise routine it will help you stay physically challenged, because many of the body’s physiological systems (e.g., the muscular system) adapt to an exercise program within approximately 6-8 weeks.
If you don’t modify your exercise routine, you reach a plateau because your body has adapted to the repetitive training stimulus. While working out on the Sole F80 Treadmill (2009 Model) which allows you to set up different programs and different intensity levels you can diversify your workouts very easily. There is nothing wrong with doing the exact same workout if that is what you like, or are used to, but spicing up your workout is definitely something I would highly recommend.
